Instructions for In-Browser Testing

1. Launch the student testing site by typing the following URL into your web browser (i.e., Chrome, Firefox, Edge): https://tx.cambiumtds.com/student

2. When testing begins with the Test Administrator on your assigned test day, please do the following:

3. On the Student Sign-In page, enter the student’s First Name, TSDS ID, and the Test Session ID that is listed on the Test Session Letter sent to you via email. Click the Sign In button to proceed.

4. Next, the student will be asked to verify his or her personal information on the Is This You? page.

a.     If all the information on the Is This You? page is correct, the student clicks the Yes button to proceed.

b.     If any of the information is incorrect, the student must click the No button.

         i.     You must notify the Test Administrator or contact the Testing Dept. at testing@txvs.org  that the student’s information is incorrect. Incorrect student demographic information must be updated before the student begins testing.

5.     In the Your Tests page, the student selects the test. The Your Tests page displays all the tests that a student is eligible to take. Students can only select tests that are included in the session and still need to be completed.

6.     Depending on the test content and the specified test settings, the student may need to verify that his or her testing device is functioning properly from the Audio/Video Checks page. If a test does not require functionality checks, this page is skipped.

7.     The Instructions and Help page is the last step of the sign-in process. The student may review this page to understand how to navigate the test and use test tools, as well as review the test settings.

8.     Before the student begins the test, read these instructions to him or her aloud: “Today you will take a Beginning-of-Year Assessment. You may not know everything on the test, but it is important that you do your very best. No one can help you answer any questions on the test, but you can ask your parent or teacher for help with the test directions or using the computer. Just do your best - you will do great!”

9.     To start the test, the student clicks the Begin Test Now button.

10.  The student should answer all test questions and submit the test when finished.

NOTE: Students will not see their results after submitting their test.
